How To Root And Port TWRP On Tecno L5

As we all know, the tecno l5 came out last year and it came with amazing specs and a monsterous batttery size, before we continue, lets take a look at a brief spec of this wonderful device.. The l5 is an android device which runs on 5.1 lollipop, powered by a 1.3GHz processor, packed with a 1gb ram 8gb rom and a massive battery of 5000mah battery, in other words, your power banks are useless...ll all thanks to hovatek for making the root method possible.

Requirements 

-PC
-download SP flashtool
-download VCOM drivers
-download the recovery image
-and have with you your USB cable

How to port twrp on tecno l5

-first you have to extract the recovery zip file which you downloaded "recovery.img" and "mt6580_android_scatter.txt" to your PC, or you can create a folder on PC and extract it in there.

-Power off your device

-Launch your Sp flash tool, then click on the upgrade tab and click on the scatter loading button

-after that, you then locate and select "mt6580_android_scatter.txt"

-after that click on download to begin the flashing process and onnect your phone to phone to PC via your USB cable

-After connecting your device to your PC, press volume down or volume up key so it can easily be detected by your computer.

-your flashing process should begin and once it is done, a green 'good mark' symbol will appear to indicate that the flashing was a success

Congratulations, TWRP recovery mode have been ported to your android device, simply press and hold your power button + volume down to boot into recovery mode 

How to root tecno L5

-download superSU zip file and move it to the internal memory of you device 

- switch off your device and boot to recovery mode ( press and hold power button + down simultaneously for 5secs)

-once in recovery menu, click on install and go and select the superSU zip file  

-once the installation process has been completed, go back to the recovery menu and tap reboot to reboot your device 

congratulations, your tecno l5 have been rooted successfully, you can download root checker from playstore to check your root status
