I guess we all know what an ATM card is, well for those who don't know what an ATM cars is or are yet to get theirs, well an ATM card is a payment card issued by a financial institution which enables that customer access an ATM (Automated Teller Machine) in other to perform transactions such as; cash withdrawals, account information and also make deposits. today i am writng an article about the safety tips we should know about our ATM (Automated Teller Machine).

Safety tips for your ATM

1. be sure to carefully read terms and conditions when making reservations as some of them have a non refund policy and also be sure to cancel your reservation on or before the end date to prevent no-show charges whenever you fail to show up    

2. Be sure to make it a habit of reviewing your account frequently for irregularities; cash withdrawals you didn't make, charges of items you never ordered. when such happens, put a call to your bankimmediately and file a report.

3. when ever you want to use your card in a shopping mall,  be sure to have eyes on your card at all times, especially when the attendant is making a swipe with it, never allow tehm enter your pin on your behalf nor even take it to another room where you don't have eyes on it.

4. Be sure to always check your mails/sms for transaction updates, the mail notification for this service is free and to enroll you have to visit your bank.

5.Be sure to keep your PIN (Personal Identification number) a secret, do not ever write your pin on a piece of paper neither should you share it with families and friends, if the need ever arises ensure to visit your bank and request for a change of pin, do not use pin that can be easily guessed like your birthdate and always report to your bank if ever your ATM card was stolen or misplaced.

7. Free Trials are not always ‘free’. If you initiate a trial subscription with a merchant, ensure you go back to the website to cancel your account before your free trial expires. Otherwise, you will be charged by them in subsequent months.
