To some of you it might be a story of the past, but there are lots of people out there who don't even know the value of backing of a ROM when they get an android phone, but when they see something new and beautiful on a friend using that same phone, they ask so many questions ranging from how he did it and how they can do theirs at the end they brick their android devices and start seeking help.
I met a friend of recent who was complaining about how his phone had been stocked on the tecno logo for days while he was applying a font and all his effort to get it running has proven abortive, I then asked if he has a back up of the stock ROM, he started asking me what's a backup and I was shocked to the bones.
I know there are ways of getting it all over the internet and most people still get confused, but today, am bringing to you and exclusive and detailed tutorial on how you can backup a ROM and also restore it in times of trouble to avoid stories that touch
How to make a backup of your ROM
If I should say android is a funny device then that would be an understatement, in fact android is a very powerful device, people tend to brick their phone when tweaking it, most of them can't even explain how their phone was bricked, the likes of tecno F6 and infinix brick when making update ( this only happens when the phone is rooted).
The most used method in backing up ROM is the Clockworkmod CWM recovery, if you know you are the type that can't do without tweaking/beautifying your phone then this should be your first step.
NB: your device should be rooted.
1. Download the recover.img of the device and place it on the root of your sd. (Root of SD means not placing it in any folder but just in the SD card)
2. Download Rashr flash tool from play store, click on select recovery from SD, locate the recovery image and click on it, click okay to boot into recovery.
3. Use the up ↑ and down ↓ key to navigate and use the power key to select.
NB: in some devices the up ↑ key is used for selecting while the down ↓ key is used for navigating.
4. Click on backup/restore, click on backup and select zip from SD card, wait for it to finish backing up, once its done, you should see backup complete.
5. Click on reboot, once your device has been rebooted, go to your SD card, you will see a folder named Clockworkmod, that means your backup was successful, so you can begin tweaking life out of your device
NB: you can copy that clockworkmod folder and place it on your PC for future purpose

3. Click on backup/restore, click on restore and locate the file, /sdcard/clockworkmod/(the backup folder) and select it.
